We’ve been planning this adventure for years. Our goal is to sail to all those places on this planet that very few people ever visit (and to visit all those places that everyone goes). The unspoiled, even uninhabited remote islands and atolls. We plan to use our boat as a way to share our love for Jesus and also to volunteer with missions, missionaries and charitable organizations around the world. We want to tell their story and introduce you to their lives and the people they serve. We’ve already connected with an organization in Panama called, Floating Doctors that we will be helping out next year (2017) during the hurricane season. Check them out on Youtube. And along the way there will be plenty of islands and beaches and reefs to explore.
Silhouette is a 50ft Gulfstar custom sloop. She is a highly modified cruising boat with everything needed to cross oceans and spend months away from civilization and weighs nearly 25 tons. She has a water maker that produces 42 gal of fresh water per hour with hundreds of gallons of water storage. We have a generator that puts out 8,500 watts of power and solar panels – enough to run everything from the dishwasher (yes, we have one), washing machine (yep, one of those too) air conditioning (yea baby) and even the ships entertainment system. We will be able to accommodate six full time passengers in three state rooms. We even have a dive compressor, so before you buy tickets to come visit, get your dive certification if you want to see the underwater side of our beautiful planet. Or we can just go snorkeling.
